Scholarships

Latino education

Los Defensores in partnership with The Jaime and Blanca Jarrín Foundation will be awarding scholarships to nine college students that share our mission of empowering the Latino community. * Southern California undergraduate college students are eligible to apply.

WE ARE WORKING TOGETHER!

Working as a Los Angeles court interpreter, Mary Ann Walker Aguirre, recognized that Spanish-speaking Latinos were not receiving the justice they deserved because of language barriers. She started, Los Defensores, a network of attorneys to bridge this gap and help the Latino community access legal services in their language. Thirty-six years later Los Defensores has helped more than 2 million Latinos access legal help during their times of need.

Our mission is to empower Latinos by providing access to the protection they seek after an auto accident, so they can feel confident about getting their lives back on track.

Dreams realized

Now, The Jaime and Blanca Jarrín Foundation and Los Defensores are looking to help students fulfill their dreams. The Jarrín Foundation and Los Defensores are committed to serving the Los Angeles community and believe a student’s dreams should not go unrealized because the cost of education is too great a burden.
